VISI.NEWS | BANDUNG – Cyberattack has once again shaken the crypto ecosystem. This time, the target was Odin.fun, a Bitcoin-based memecoin launchpad. According to an official report released on August 13, 2025, the breach resulted in losses exceeding $7 million, equivalent to approximately IDR 114 billion.
Odin.fun is known for leveraging the Bitcoin network to launch various memecoin projects, promoting itself as a secure and transparent blockchain-based platform.
However, this incident highlights that security loopholes in the crypto sector remain a serious threat, even for projects claiming to have high-level protection systems.
Preliminary analysis by several cybersecurity experts suggests that the attack likely involved a smart contract exploit that allowed the perpetrator to redirect funds from user wallets.
As of now, Odin.fun has not released a detailed technical statement on the breach mechanism or any compensation plans for victims.
This incident adds to the growing list of crypto hacks in 2025, which have also impacted several major digital asset exchanges.
Analysts warn that beyond financial losses, such attacks risk eroding public trust in new crypto projects.
