VISI.NEWS | BANDUNG – Amid the surging popularity of cryptocurrencies, owning a full Bitcoin (BTC) has become an extraordinarily rare privilege. According to a recent report from Cointelegraph, only about 0.01% to 0.02% of the global population holds at least 1 BTC—making the “1 BTC club” even more exclusive than becoming a millionaire.

With the world’s population estimated at around 8 billion, this means only about 1 million to 1.6 million people globally own a full Bitcoin or more.

This scarcity is driven by several factors. First, the total supply of Bitcoin is capped at 21 million BTC, most of which has already been mined.

Second, Bitcoin distribution is highly uneven-large portions are held by institutional investor, cryptocurrency exchanges, or long-term holders (HODLers) who rarely sell.

Moreover, Bitcoin extreme price volatility deters many from making large investments, while the cost of acquiring 1 BTC-worth tens of thousands of US dollar puts it out of reach for most small investors.

Given this level of rarity, owning 1 Bitcoin may become a new status symbol in the digital age link even more exclusive than traditional wealth.
